Quote of the moment

While reading one of my blogs comment list and recalling the article I read from pete's blog I came up with the following quote. I post this under the GNU licensing agreement. (If you don't know what that is then don't worry about it.)

"I am offended by people who are offended by me." - Eric Stoltz, April 2004

The New Dodge

********

This entry is all about a car. If the extent of your car selection is its color and if its CUTE then you might want to pass this entry up as it may give you a headache. Otherwise read on

********

Well Dodge has gotten into the sport wagon market. With Ford pushing the Focus, VW and the japs being the veterans in this field Dodge is going to give them a run for their money. Its the new 2005 Magnum. With Dodge's Famous 5.7L V8 HEMI this car is going to give the entire market a run for its money. The Magnum's RT package matches the HEMI Engine with a 2.82 Axle Ratio for an awesome conversion of Power to speed. This package also includes 18 Polished Aluminum rims wrapped in 225 Touring Radials.

Daimler seems to have had heavy input in the interior with a 6 disc AM/FM/CD/MP3 player pushing 6 Boston Acoustics Speakers and optional Satellite Radio. The RT package has power Everything. This thing even comes with solar sensitive glass which darkens based on the amount of light hitting it. With optional built in power inverter, Autostick, Chrome Package, Electronic Stability System, and many many other features there should be a lot of talk about this vehicle soon. With advertisments already in place for Superbowl dodge has layed out its marketing campaign strategy. I only hope that the gas prices have dropped by the time it comes out or there won't be anyone out there interested.

My Journey

In my journey to become the Perfect Blogger I decided to comment on an article from another blogger. Kristin of Mad Pony Wrote this little post about target vs walmart.

As a general boycotter of Target I don't find myself going in there very often. I find it to be an overpriced uppity-people-employing establishment. Walmart on the other hand has served many uses during my brief life. School supplies during high school to the hang out after bars close in college, Walmart has been good to me. They always seem to have what you need and the uncanny ability of any employee in the store being able to tell you where something is even if its not their department. I find that amazing. Even when I go in there at 4am and the stockers are in there I feel at home. They don't wear the uniforms that the day shift wears but they are just as polite to customers. This is not something you see much of these days. When walmart went to super wal-mart or "Wallyworld" status it opened up a whole new world of shopping. I could now get my latest electronic toy or accessory for my previous investment and still get some bread and bottled water to live off of. Unlike target you can walk into Walmart and purchase the wierdest compination of items and no one really looks at you funny. I know. I've been there. I was a member of the scavenger hunt team that went to walmart to purchase a bottle of mustard, ping pong balls, a feather boa and a box of condoms. It wasn't the least bit awkward. The cashier made you feel like everyone buys that stuff and we weren't odd at all.

So here's to wal-mart. And Circle K for the interesting scavenger hunt.

Baaaaa

OK so I'm a sheep. I went out and got what someone else had (The blog subscription thing) So sue me. Have I ever mentioned that I hate stupid people? I'm driving along I-12 and look in my rear view mirror to see a silver civic coming up fast. I'm in the left lane but I'm doing 10 over so in my opinion I shouldn't have to slow down and move over because they want to do 25 over.

So I'm watching this person and suddenly realize that they a closing in and they aren't even paying attention to the road. They are talking on their cell phone while digging around in the back seat. It isn't until they are almost in the back of my truck that they slam on their brakes causing a bit of smoke and nearly go riding through the mud of the median (or neutral ground).

OK PEOPLE LISTEN UP. If you can't multi-task THEN DON'T!!! I am sick of seeing people driving down the middle of a two lane road oblivious to all around them because they are talking on their cell phone. Sure I use a cell phone when I'm driving. But you know what. I AM CAPABLE OF DOING IT WITHOUT ENDANGERING SOMEONE ELSE OR MYSELF. I think that the driving test should be updated. You should have to perform all of the functions of the driving test while talking to someone on a cell phone. If you can't do that then you get an endorsement on your license and a big image of a cell phone and a circle with a slash through it on your car doors.

Just my $0.02!

Slow News day

So this is what its like to be on a slow news day. It just seems like everyone has nothing much to say on their blogs. Maybe I just don't have anything else to do other than make the blog rounds more often. Anyway the only thing in the news as of late is the comment by john "horse face with a big mouth" kerry. If you haven't heard the comment then you have either been under a rock or been reading only the most liberal of media sources. I'm not going to get into it because I'm not feeling very political at the moment.

In other news I am working on a permanent replacement for this site. This has served its use and all but Its time to move to a home made site with bells and whistles that doesn't have ads on them. Not unless I'm getting paid for them. So the address is http://www.biginsanity.org BUT DON"T CLICK ON IT YET. because it isn't out for beta testing yet. I hope to have it up and running in a month or so.

I too will be traveling to memphis this weekend. Should be fun. Then lisa is coming down for a week in slidell for her spring break.

I'm taking my CCNA test monday afternoon. I will be drinking either way and may be using a sick day on tuesday. If you want to celebrate with me/console me give me a call on the cell. you know the number.

Well thats about all I got.

Fucking Amazing

Warning: This is a rant on Circle K. If you don't want to hear about it skip this post.

Disclaimer Done.

OK so for the last 4 years or so I have been talking about an alumni registry online. I am sure that I am not the first to come up with such an idea as I've heard it from many other people but for the International Staff to have "developed an Alumni Registry" after telling the members who have suggested it that its not a good idea is just absurd. Not to mention that there is as far as I know still a hold on all alumni associations. Is this some sort of attempt at making themselves (staff) look better in the eyes of their members?

I think its about time that people speak up to their sponsoring Kiwanis Clubs about the problems plaguing the international staff. As a kiwanian I know that many clubs don't even know about the problem. This is just another example of how self serving and self centered the people on CKI staff is.

Its time that the true leadership of this section of the K family is returned back to those who have invested in it. The membership.

I'll vent more on this later as its getting late

What the media SHOULD be reporting

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not the touchy feely type. I don't think everything should be super wonderful and what not. I know that there is grey in the world. But here is what the media should be telling us about.

Another Funny email

So as to not fill up your email boxes here is another funny joke.

E

MARINE IN IRAQ

A squad of Marines drove up the highway between Basra and Baghdad. They
came
upon an Iraqi soldier badly injured and unconscious. Nearby on the opposite
side of the road was an American Marine in a similar state, but he was
alert.

As first aid was given to both men, they asked the injured Marine what
happened. The Marine responded, I was heavily armed and moving north along
the highway. Coming south was a heavily armed Iraqi soldier."

"What happened then?" the corpsman asked. "I told him Saddam Hussein was a
miserable piece of crap and then the Iraqi told me that Tom Daschle, Ted
Kennedy and Bill Clinton were miserable pieces of crap!"

"What happened then?" the corpsman asked.

"We were shaking hands when a truck hit us."
